Storm Damage Repair in Guthrie
Hail and wind can leave damage you cannot see from the yard. We walk your roof, photograph every bruise, crease and lifted edge, explain what it means for your home and your claim, then repair it with matching materials and careful cleanup.

What storm damage repair covers
Storm damage repair is the work of finding and fixing what a specific weather event did to your roof. That might be a handful of shingles torn off by a gust, or hail bruising spread across every slope. The two look very different and call for different answers, so we start by working out which one you have.
Spring storms across central Oklahoma bring both hail and straight-line wind, often in the same evening. Hail tends to crack the asphalt mat under the granules, which speeds aging even when nothing leaks yet. Wind breaks the seal strip that holds each shingle down, and once that bond is gone the shingle can lift again in the next blow.
Some storms call for a small repair. Others leave enough damage that roof replacement makes more sense than patching. We tell you which is true for your roof, and why, before any work is scheduled.

What the work includes
- 01
A full roof walk
We go up and check every slope, along with the ridge, valleys, vents and flashing. Soft metals like vent caps and gutters often show hail dents first, so we check those too.
- 02
Photo documentation
You get dated photos of each area of damage, marked so you can see exactly what we found. Those photos are useful to you and to your insurance adjuster.
- 03
Temporary protection when needed
If the storm opened a hole or stripped shingles, we can cover the exposed area so rain stays outside while you wait for the lasting fix.
- 04
Matched repairs
We replace damaged shingles, underlayment and flashing with materials that match your roof as closely as current products allow, and we reseal lifted tabs that are still sound.
- 05
Gutter and edge checks
Dented downspouts and bent drip edge get noted and repaired. If your gutters took the worst of it, our gutters service handles that work.
- 06
Cleanup
We clear debris, old shingles and nails from your lawn, beds and driveway before we leave, and run a magnet over the ground for stray fasteners.
Questions about Storm Damage Repair?
Call(405) 873-6396Signs your roof took storm damage
Debris on the lawn
Torn tabs, bits of ridge cap or loose granule-coated scraps scattered around the house tell you the roof lost material overhead. A single missing tab leaves the underlayment open to the next rain.
Dents on metal surfaces
Check your gutters, downspouts, mailbox and vent caps. Round dents on soft metal usually mean the roof was struck by the same hail.
Granules collecting below downspouts
A sudden pile of dark, sandy grit after a storm points to hail knocking granules off the shingles.
Creased or lifted edges
Stand back in the yard and scan the roofline for a shingle that rides up out of line with the rest, or one with a visible fold. That usually means the wind broke the seal.
New stains or drips inside
A water spot on a ceiling or wet insulation in the attic after heavy rain means water has found a path through.
How a storm repair job runs
- 1
Your phone call
Let us know the date the storm came through and anything that has caught your eye since. From there we agree on a day for us to visit and see the roof firsthand.
- 2
Inspection and photos
We walk the roof, document the damage and talk you through it on the spot. If a storm claim looks reasonable, we say so; if the damage is minor or older wear, we say that too.
- 3
Insurance, explained plainly
We explain how the claim process usually works, and we can be there when your adjuster visits to show each damaged area firsthand. Coverage decisions rest with your insurer and their adjuster; our part is making sure the damage is clearly shown.
- 4
The repair day
We protect landscaping and siding, remove damaged materials, check the decking underneath and install the new materials. Most repairs are finished in a day.
- 5
Final walk-through
We show you the finished work, share after photos and clean up the property so your home looks the way it did before the storm.
What affects the cost of storm repair
Two things set the price of a storm repair: how far the damage spreads and what we find under the shingles once they come up. We list every item in a written estimate so you can hold it up against your insurance paperwork line by line. When a claim is involved, your deductible and the scope your insurer approves also shape what you pay.
- Extent of the damage
- A few wind-lifted shingles on one slope is a short job. Hail spread across the whole roof is a much larger one.
- Condition of the decking
- If water has soaked or softened the plywood underneath, those sections need replacing before new shingles go on.
- Matching materials
- Older or discontinued shingles can be hard to match. Finding a close color and profile sometimes takes more material or more time.
- Roof pitch and access
- A steep roof means harnesses, roof jacks and more careful footing on every slope. That extra rigging and slower pace show up as additional labor on the estimate.
- Related components
- Flashing, vents, skylights and gutters damaged in the same storm add to the scope when they need repair too.
Storm damage repair questions
How soon after a storm should I have my roof checked?
Sooner is better, mostly because hidden damage keeps getting worse with each rain. Most insurance policies also set a window for reporting storm damage, so check your policy. A prompt look gives you photos while the evidence is fresh.
Will you tell me if I should not file a claim?
Yes. If the damage is minor, below your deductible or looks like normal wear rather than storm damage, we will tell you that directly. Filing a weak claim does you no favors.
Do you work with my insurance company?
We explain how a claim usually unfolds, hand over our photos and can be on the roof with your adjuster to point out each damaged spot. The adjuster role and any coverage discussion stay with you and your insurer, not with us. Our job is to make the damage easy to see and understand.
Is a repair enough after a storm, or will I need a new roof?
Plenty of roofs only need a repair, especially after wind that hit one area. When hail has bruised shingles on every slope, a full roof replacement is often the sounder choice. We show you the photos and explain our reasoning so you can decide.
Do you serve homes outside Guthrie?
Yes. We handle storm repair in Guthrie and nearby communities such as Edmond, Piedmont, Perkins and Jones. Our service areas page lists more of the towns we cover.
Had a storm roll through recently?
Give us a ring and tell us what you have noticed. We will set a time to look at your roof, show you what we find and walk you through your options.
